Start the Winter Season in Heiligenblut at the Grossglockner, the top of Austria
As glorious autumn days give way to cooler temperatures, the ski season in the Grossglockner/ Heiligenblut ski area draws palpably closer. The nature's vibrant colours and golden hues are replaced by natural snow, freshly groomed pistes and exhilarating days on more than 55 km of slopes.
With an area of 1856 km2, it is the largest protected area in the Alps. There is much to discover in the Hohe Tauern National Park
As of Friday 7 December 2018, the Grossglockner/Heiligenblut ski area is ready to 'Ease into the Season'. At the beginning of a new skiing season, it's a good idea to allow yourself some time to get back into the swing of things. A number of lift facilities are open to take you up into the mountains, while cosy hotels and B&Bs await at the end of an invigorating day.
