The Christmas markets in Alta Badia are characterised by peacefulness, Ladin culture and tradition

The charming stalls, the Christmas lights, the unmistakable aroma of hot drinks and the decorated Christmas trees embellish the market square. Here you can find crafts and arts and taste specialties of the Ladin tradition accompanied by the sweet notes of Christmas carols. The Christmas markets are an important part of the Christmas tradition in the Alps and of course, in South Tyrol as well. In cities such as Bolzano, Merano, Bressanone and Brunico, Christmas markets are an established tradition.

For some years now Alta Badia, the Ladin valley in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, has also been offering visitors two enchanting Christmas markets, inspired by Ladin culture and tradition.

The atmosphere of Christmas in the mountains:

The traditional wooden stalls, set up in the centre of the villages of Corvara and San Cassiano, create that special romantic atmosphere. In the pedestrianised centre of San Cassiano and in the centre of Corvara, you can go for a walk, admire the winter landscape of the Dolomites, taste local specialities and watch demonstrations by local artisans. This way you can fully enjoy the scents, sounds and the magical atmosphere of Christmas in the mountains.

Both Christmas markets at Corvara and San Cassiano are open from 6.December 2018-6. January 2019.
