The exhibition entitled “Leonardo da Vinci: Visions" is split into two areas: the Fortezza venue features reproductions of Leonardo's machines, while the “Giardino di Poggiofanti" garden is the setting for an extraordinary full-size reconstruction of the Equestrian Monument in memory of Francesco Sforza. This reconstruction of the giant horse, over seven metres tall, is characterised by faithfulness to Leonardo's drawings and to the casting process invented by him. Made of composite materials and featuring a steel structure, it is 7.8 m tall and has a total extension of about 10 x 4 metres, with a total weight of 20,000 kg.
The exhibition is at the Fortezza e Giardini Poggiofanti at Montepulciano up to 17. September 2017.
