Dreamy beaches and clear seas- the best of the Tuscan coast, Italy

Crystal-clear seas and well maintained beaches that offer utmost comfort and the best of facilities, while always being environmentally friendly.

Many of Tuscany's beach resorts have been awarded with the European Blue Flag, an international recognition that is given not only to wonderful coastlines but also for other environmental indicators that help to make for a perfect holiday, such as the services offered by lifeguards, green spaces, pedestrian zones and cycle paths.

For people who choose Versilia, sun and clear seas as well as fun and fashion can be found in Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio, and culture in Pietrasanta and Camaiore. Pietrasanta is famous for being the land of artists and marble workers, known as Little Athens, whereas Camaiore boasts a wealth of relics from the past.

Along the Apuane Riviera the coastline of Carrara will bewitch you. The world capital of marble is located between the sea and the park of the Apuan Alps, offering breath-taking views over the mountains, where the “white gold" is extracted as well as relaxing moments along its long, sandy beaches, equipped with the finest bathing facilities and nautical centres, where you can enjoy sports such as sailing and windsurfing. The beaches of Massa, including Marina di Massa, have also been awarded the Blue Flag designation. It has incredible Liberty-style villas, and Ronchi.

The Pisan coastline offers total relaxation and secluded beaches, far away from the business and stress of our daily lives. Sandy beaches, clear sea and vast Mediterranean pine groves can be found near Marina di Pisa,Tirrenia and Calambrone.

Along the Etruscan Coast there are countless corners of paradise: from Antignano to Quercianella and Castiglioncelloas well as Vadadi Rosignano Marittimo, four very different beaches yet all provide beautiful views of the sea. There are Blue Flag beaches a-plenty at Cecina, Marina di Bibbona, Castagneto Carducciand San Vincenzoas well as the Nature Park of Sterpaia(Piombino), with its sandy dunes in the very heart of nature, complete with pine woods.

A Blue Flag has also been awarded to the Spiaggia della Fenicia, in Marciana Marina, on the delightful Elba Island.

The Maremma also offers exceptional locations for a truly unforgettable summer. The coastlines of Follonica, Marina and Principina di Grosseto, near to the Regional Park of the Maremma, are regarded as some of the best beaches for families with children. Another resort worth seeing is Castiglione della Pescaia, with its old town centre that dominates the coastline, a bona fide gem that overlooks the sea.

Along the southern coast, Monte Argentario makes its presence felt, once an island, now connected to Tuscany by a strip of land. Here you find breath-taking reefs, secluded bays and beaches with the very best facilities.
