Castiglione della Pescaia in Tuscany - awarded this year again the 5 sails for the most beautiful sea in Italy

Clean beaches, crystal clear water, high level of care for the environment, beautiful landscape: these are the key factors considered for the winner of the 'palm' of seaside in 2015, where Castiglione della Pescaia (in province of Grosseto, Tuscany) has topped the list, followed by San Vito Lo Capo (Trapani in Sicily), and the third place was awarded to Pollica (Salerno). The ranking was done by the Italian Touring Club which has awarded the 5 sails to the most beautiful sea – they can be also found at the “ Blue Guide" at the Milan Expo 2015 exhibition.

Amongst the runners up for the award were 16 coastal places and 6 lakes. Sardinia stands out above all with its beautiful landscape, quality of services and 5 of the best tourist areas.

"The Blue Guide" - is a useful and interesting guide used by many holidaymakers for details of where to find places paying more attention to environmental sustainability, most live-able and respect the natural treasures of the local area. The resorts awarded the 5 sails at the Expo do represent the Italian excellence in the highest sense of the word." Even this edition - says Franco Iseppi, president of Touring club - "confirms and reinforces" the ' attention "to eco-sustainability, preservation of the environment and promote good practice." For the president of Italian Parks Federation, Giampiero Sammuri, "it is no coincidence that many of the places awarded " are close or "in Natural reserves, UNESCO protected areas ".
