Dolomites Bike Day 18. June 2017

Cycling the dolomite passes without cars

18th June from 10 am to 3 pm

Cycling in the heart of the Dolomites – UNESCO World Heritage, is an unforgettable experience.

On Sunday, 18th June, from 10am to 3pm, you can ride some of the most stunning Dolomites pass roads. You will follow some of the legendary stages of the famous Italian bicycle race Giro d'Italia. This day the roads that connect Alta Badia – Arabba and the Falzarego pass will be closed to traffic and reserved exclusively for cyclists. At the non-competitive cycling event, every cyclist can take part for free.

The circular route, amidst fascinating natural landscapes, leads through some of the most attractive roads and well-known Dolomite passes in South Tyrol and Veneto.

For example, starting from Alta Badia you cycle passing Corvara and up to the Campolongo pass where you ride down to Arabba and Livinallongo. Here you climb the Falzarego pass and the Valparola pass – one of the most fascinating sceneries in the Alps – from where you reach again Alta Badia by cycling downwards to San Cassiano. From San Cassiano you easily reach your starting point. The route has a total length of 52 km and a total difference in altitude of 1.370 meters.
